Abantu for Development, a Non governmental organization has urged women to be critical Agents of change in the quest for climate justice.

Abantu for Development is a gender and policy advocacy organization that exists to promote women’s equal participation in politics and decision making at all levels of society.

The Head of Programmes for Abantu for Development, Grace Ampomaa Afrifa said,over the years they have made significant contributions through the implementation of programmes that essentially bring gender issues to the fore in addressing issues of climate change.

According to her ,some of the projects implemented is to increase awareness on the gendered nature of climate change at all levels.

She said, different groups of women also had their capacities built on climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.

The National Coordinator of 350 Ghana Reducing our carbon and member of GACCES Portia Adu-Mensah said they want to deepen understanding of the gendered nature of climate change and how it impacts on different socio-economic groups at different levels of the society among women in order to contribute to the development of concrete policy responses at all levels.
