Volta Serene has been crowned the best 4-star hotel in the Volta Region at the just-ended Volta Tourism Awards held in the Volta Regional Capital, Ho over the weekend.
The hotel was awarded according to the citation based on its consistently demonstrating an unwavering commitment to providing top-tier luxurious accommodations and a tranquil environment that blends seamlessly with the Volta Region’s Breathtaking Natural Beauty.
The Volta Regional Minister Dr. Yaw Archibald Letsa who was the guest of
honour at the event said “Tourism is more than just an industry; it is a powerful catalyst for economic transformation, cultural preservation, and community development. It brings people from diverse backgrounds together, fosters cultural exchange, and showcases the treasures we hold dear as a region—our history, landscapes, and, most importantly, our people.”
In his speech which was read on his behalf by the Volta Regional Director for Arts and National Culture Mrs. Lydia Nyarko-Ampomah,he mentioned that the event, themed “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector,” is particularly meaningful to him, not just as the Regional Minister, but as someone who deeply appreciates the significant role tourism plays in the social and economic development of the Volta region and Ghana at large.
Citing the diverse natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Volta Region, he said the region is truly “a gem in Ghana’s tourism landscape. From the tranquil beaches of Keta to the majestic Afadjato, and from the historic caves of Likpe to the iconic Wli Waterfalls, we are blessed with attractions that have the potential to bring prosperity not only to local communities but to the nation as a whole.”
He, however, noted that this potential can only be fully realized through the efforts of individuals and institutions dedicated to promoting and developing tourism.” thus the reason for honouring individuals—visionaries, trailblazers, and innovators—who have contributed uniquely to the growth of tourism in the Volta Region through the Volta Tourism awards as they have not only demonstrated excellence but also resilience, creativity, and a passion for showcasing the best the region has to offer.

In an interview with the Volta Regional Director of Tourism, Johny Arthur-Quarm, he asserted that everything is in the Volta Region, especially when it comes to ecotourism, and the 4 Star Hotels have what it takes to compete with other 4 Star Hotels in other parts of the country. In his words “I have been recommending to tourists, when they come and they say they want to experience nature, it’s a Volta region.
We have the mountains, we have the waterfalls, we have the rivers, we have the valleys, we have everything. We have the animals. So the Volta Region is obviously the choice compared to other regions unless you want a particular experience.
But if you want to experience nature, if you want to have a brush with nature, it’s a Volta Region. Yes, that’s it.”
