The Volta Region House of Chiefs (VRHC) has congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama following his victory in the 2024 Presidential elections.
In a statement issued on January 3, 2025, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, President of the House, praised Mahama’s unwavering dedication to the nation and the trust the Ghanaian people had placed in him stating, “Truly, your leadership has always been characterized by a profound commitment to unity, inclusivity, and progress for all society.” highlighting the exceptional qualities that led Mahama to victory and garnered widespread support.
The House also underscored the importance of the Volta Region in the cultural and economic heritage of Ghana. The statement recalled Mahama’s recent interactions with the House, where he had outlined his commitment to prioritizing the region in his administration.
The VRHC therefore urged Mahama to consider the sons and daughters of the Volta Region in forming his team. “We want you to ensure the region is represented adequately in your government,” the statement said. The House emphasized that these individuals would serve as role models for the region’s youth.
The VRHC expressed its encouragement by H.E Mahama’s vision for the country, noting that it resonated with the aspirations of the people, especially in the Volta Region. The House emphasized the alignment of Mahama’s goals with those of the people in terms of development, peace, and prosperity.
The House of Chiefs said it is eager to work closely with H.E Mahama’s administration to address both challenges and opportunities. They expressed confidence that under Mahama’s guidance, the region would experience equitable development that left no community behind.
The Chiefs of the Volta Region also pledged their full support and goodwill through the statement to the President-Elect, wishing him great success during his tenure. “We believe that under your guidance, we can foster development that aligns with the needs of our people,” they stated.
The VRHC closed its message with hopes for enduring prosperity. “May your tenure bring about positive change and enduring prosperity for our beloved nation,” they said. The House expressed optimism for a prosperous future under Mahama’s leadership.
