Donald Trump, a former US president, was detained on Thursday in a Georgia jail on suspicion of racketeering and conspiracy. He was then released on a $200,000 bond following the taking of an iconic mug shot.
Trump spent less than 30 minutes in Atlanta’s Fulton County Jail before he was driven to the airport in a motorcade. Trump is charged with conspiring with 18 other defendants to rig the southern state’s 2020 election.
The 77-year-old Trump had his mug shot taken during his court appearance, much like the other defendants in the case who have so far turned themselves in.
He was seen frowning at the camera in the sheriff’s office photo while wearing a dark blue suit, a white shirt, and a red tie.

Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, told reporters following his detention that it was a “very sad day for America.”
He declared, “What has happened here is a travesty of justice.” “I made no mistakes,”
Trump shared the photo of himself in a jail cell along with the comment “Election Interference” and a link to his campaign website on his own Truth Social platform.
