The residents of Teshie Adjorman North have met the MCE of Lakma to complain about an encroachment of roads and major highways by some residents in the area. In the meeting the residents were disgruntled about how a resident has encroached the roads causing flooding and making it difficult for cars and dwellers to use the road.
Mr Enoch Adjei-Mensah, a resident and a member of the association said
The encroachment has made it difficult for them to stay in the vicinity, he added the encroachers said they’ve a building permit from the municipal assembly but according to the assembly their permit have been revoked.
MCE of Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, Mordecai Quarshie in the meeting said, most of the buildings put in the district are on water paths, others on high ways which are causing flooding in most of the areas inducing a discomforts among dwellers, he warned that one person’s comfort can not cause a lot of dissatisfaction to others so the district will soon start operation to demolish buildings and any other projects built on roads and major drainage path.
He finally, entreat everyone to take a building permit before undertaking any project on any piece of land to avoid building on a drainage site.
The residents also expressed their displeasure in the past MCE of Lekma for giving some of the dwellers a permit to build on a drainage path.
