Mohammed Maazu Gariba a form 3 student of Saviour Senior High School-Oseim, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison at the Koforidua circuit court for stealing electrical wires worth Ghc 59,000.00 from a house at Akim Anyinasin.
The accused was on 19/11/2023, arrested at Akim Anyinasin when he went to a newly built story building, removed all the electrical wires, and burnt them to get the copper out of them.
The accused after burning the wires, went to hide it in a nearby bush but as he went back for it, luck eluded him, and was arrested and handed off to the police.
The accused who was convicted of the same cable theft in 2020 for 23 months at the Tafo Magistrate Court, was given an enhanced sentence of 14 years at the Circuit Court Koforidua, because of his previous record.
