The Volta regional chairman of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Anthony Dagbey, popularly known as Tony D, has accused the Ho central chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Frank Ahaze, of impregnating his wife (name withheld).
Tony made the claims on his Tosh Media Company (Tosh TV and Tosh FM) in the Ho Municipality somewhere in August this year. The news later went viral and was reported by some traditional and social media platforms.
According to Tony D, the NPP chairman who doubles as a pastor and a leader of one of the charismatic churches in Ho, lured his wife into a secret relationship and impregnated her.
Tony D further claimed that his wife confessed after he interrogated her vigorously in the presence of another clergy. He added that he’ll not take legal actions against the chairman but will seek divine justice.
In a statement issued by the pregnant woman, she said the MUSIGA chairman’s claims are a fallacy to destroy the reputation of the NPP Chairman.
The woman also noted that Tony D is not her husband, since he is not married to her, and her family advised her to redraw from the relationship after knowing that Tony D lied to her and that she is not Tony D’s legal wife, but he (Tony D) had a child with her 9 years ago.
“I am Juliet, the woman in question, who was alleged to have been pregnant for Rev Chairman Frank Ahaze. I was shocked to come across such a fabrication made by Mr Anthony Dagbe a.k.a. Tony D on News Ghana and subsequently posted on many other social media platforms. The publication was dated 31st August 2024 and I want to state that:
1. When I met Anthony Dagbe, he told me he divorced his wife and was a divorcee. The reason he gave was that, his wife was unable to bear a child for him.
2. With this, I became pregnant for him only for the legally married wife to pop up from nowhere with assault and death threats. It is by the grace of God that I was able to deliver the baby successfully after which my family came in and advised me to move out of the relationship for the legal wife.
3. For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Anthony Dagbey (Tony D) is married to Mrs.Shirley Bakudie (Dagbey) (+233244856038, +233509818040) and I have never been his wife contrary to his claims.
4. I am not a member of ECG The Jesus Nation Church, Ho branch nor is Mr Anthony Dagbe (Tony D) a member. This claim is a complete fabrication.
What I do know is that Mr Anthony Dagbe was selling “fake” Lion of Judah’ anointing oil, an incident I understand Rev Chairman Frank Ahaze reported to the national office of the church that resulted in a ban on His illegal sales of the oil. I can still recall Mr. Anthony Dagbe telling me that because of what Rev Frank and the church did to him He will not forgive them, though it is shocking, I am not surprised to watch Mr Anthony Dagbe go all out to destroy Rev. Chairman Ahaze’s hard-won reputation.
I believe Mr. Anthony Dagbe (Tony D) is on a mission to settle old scores.
I want to state very clearly that I am not pregnant for Rev Chairman Frank Ahaze and he has nothing to do with Mr Anthony Dagbe’s claims, and to me, Mr Anthony Dagbe (Tony D) is nothing more than the father of my child.
For these reasons, I urge you to treat this allegation which does not include a single piece of evidence as a clear defamation case with all the contempt it deserves.
