King Lu has recently addressed allegations claiming Hon. Hawa Koomson had threatened NDC parliamentary candidate Naa Koryoo at gunpoint on four occasions.

He asserted that these claims are unfounded. He emphasized that the NDC candidate could provide police reports to substantiate this.

– Hon. Hawa Koomson’s Alibi: On the day Hon. Hawa Koomson departed for a summit in Korea, her son Ato was stabbed.

An Accra High Court on Thursday, June 6, remanded Usman Haruna into police custody. Haruna is accused of stabbing Ato Koomson, the son of Awutu Senya East MP Mavis Hawa Koomson, during a scuffle at the Electoral Commission office at Ofaakor near Kasoa in the Central Region.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 2, 2024, around 5 am, before the start of the day’s activities at the EC office.

Police arrested Haruna amidst the disturbance that led to the stabbing of Mr. Koomson.

The accused is scheduled to reappear in court on June 19, 2024. The court will continue to hear the case and determine the next steps in the legal process.

– Prime Suspect: The NDC candidate is considered a primary suspect in the attack on Ato.

– Firearm Incident: In a related development, following the failed assassination attempt, Naa Koryoo was reportedly seen returning to the electoral office with a pump-action gun, raising questions about her intentions in bringing a firearm to the EC office.

Authorities stress the importance of allowing the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served.
