What started as a casual conversation with drivers and road users within the Ashaiman constituency has turned political.

Whereas a large number of residents believe that because the ruling party commands less of the voting population in Ashaiman, that is the reason the Akufo Addo-Bawumia government has failed to attend to making their roads motorable.

A large majority have decided to reserve their comments regarding roads in Ashaiman as they claim much had been said already but the government has decided to turn blind eyes and deaf ears to what they seems to be referring to.

For some, they expressed their uttermost disappointment at the government for having missed the opportunity to sway the voting rights of the voting population within Ashaiman to the favour of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to some roads users who spoke on conditions of anonymity, the NDC at the time of leaving power, left a single-coated roads which could have been completed by the NPP government but missed that opportunity.

While a large majority see voting as a waste of quality time, others have different views.

For some, they will seize the opportunity to punish the NPP.

Drivers say, out of the little they make from the tedious work, they have to run to the workshop very often and at the end, going home with virtually nothing.

Some questioned if indeed there is a President and government in Ghana at the moment.

Others serve notice of a massive demonstration against the government.

But whether that would hold, the future will determine as the police has just stopped an intended demonstration which was supposed to have come off yesterday, Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

It is uncertain when demonstrators will have the opportunity to exercise their civil rights to register their displeasure.
