In a recent address, Mrs. Kate Hassan, the President of the Event Vendors Association of Ghana (EVAG), shed light on the numerous challenges faced by event vendors in the country.
As the association embarks on a new chapter in its history, Mrs. Hassan emphasized the importance of acknowledging and addressing these obstacles to ensure the industry’s resilience and growth.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a severe blow to the event industry in Ghana, leaving many vendors grappling to sustain their businesses.”
Looking ahead, President Hassan outlined several key priorities that her administration intends to focus on. Foremost among these is fostering closer collaboration among EVAG members at both regional and national levels. By encouraging the sharing of resources, knowledge, and support among vendors, the association aims to cultivate a more dynamic and sustainable events industry in Ghana.
Enhancing the skills and competencies of EVAG members is another key area of emphasis for the administration. To achieve this, Mrs. Hassan announced plans to invest in training programs, organize workshops and seminars, and establish new standards and best practices. By enhancing the capabilities of event vendors, the association aims to provide superior services to clients and elevate the overall quality of events produced in the country.
In addition to internal initiatives, EVAG will continue to advocate for the industry at the national level. President Hassan highlighted the association’s commitment to engaging with policymakers and other stakeholders to raise awareness about the vital role events play in Ghana’s economy.
EVAG will actively seek policies and regulations that support industry growth and development, working diligently to remove any barriers that hinder progress.
As the event industry in Ghana faces an uphill battle in the wake of the pandemic, President Hassan’s vision for EVAG promises a united front and strategic measures to navigate the challenges ahead.
With collaboration, skill-building, and advocacy at the forefront, the association is poised to steer the events industry toward a prosperous future.
