A heart-wrenching story of struggle and resilience has emerged from Esaso, a suburb of Adankwame in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of Ashanti.

Akua Tiwaa, a widow with two young children, has been empowered with a generous donation of 1000 cedis to start a business, courtesy of Ebenezer Assemblies of God, Dorcas Ministry, based in Bronx, New York.

Akua’s story is one of unimaginable hardship.

After losing her mother earlier that year, she lost her husband two weeks after giving birth to her second child, leaving her to care for their children alone.

With no employment and no financial support, Akua has been struggling to make ends meet.

Her situation came to light when Ebenezer Assemblies of God, Dorcas Ministry, in collaboration with a Member of Journalists in Social Protection (JISOP) and OTEC FM journalist Jacob Agyenim Boateng, visited the community on Wednesday to provide support to some widows.

Although Ama was not initially selected to receive support, her dire circumstances and emotional story moved the team to provide her with the 1000 cedis donation.

Overcome with emotion, Ama broke down in tears upon receiving the support, expressing her gratitude and surprise at the generous gift.

This act of kindness has brought hope and relief to Ama and her children and serves as a testament to the power of community and compassion.
