Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, a former minister of communications, has accepted the position of director of elections and information technology for the National Democratic Congress in advance of the elections of 2024.
On August 24, 2023, the NDC’s general secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, released a press release announcing his appointment.
Taking over for Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, who has held the job since 2019, is Dr. Omane Boamah.
In a news release, he expressed his excitement over the appointment, thanked the NDC leadership for their confidence in him, and vowed to do his bit to help the party gain control of the government.
“I agree to take over running the NDC IT and Elections Directorate.”
I respectfully accept my position as the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) director of elections and information technology. Working with a fantastic IT and election management team excites me. In the most recent NDC Presidential Primaries and the Assin North Constituency Parliamentary By-Election, our team proved its worth and showed promise.
I pledge to work relentlessly and do my best to ensure victory for the party and all Ghanaians in the 2024 elections to our Leader and 2024 flag bearer, President John Dramani Mahama, Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the whole NDC leadership and supporters.
