The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is requesting a live broadcast of its upcoming meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to discuss findings and observations related to the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) for the December 7 general elections.
In a letter to the Electoral Commission, the General Secretary of the main opposition party, NDC, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey stated that a live broadcast would ensure transparency in the engagement. This request as a result of the several reports of name omission in the voters register.
The meeting was requested on Tuesday, August 27, after the NDC identified significant discrepancies during the 2024 voter exhibition exercise.The discrepancies were discovered through analysis of the Provisional Voters Register provided by the EC and comparisons with registers exhibited at various polling centers across the country.The NDC and other groups raised concerns about these discrepancies during the voter register exhibition period, which lasted from August 20 to August 27.
