The opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) bares teeth at Godfred Dame, Attorney General to substantiate his claims the purported video evidence he claimed to have.
It has emerged that the Attorney General, Godfred Dame has blatantly lied in court against the Honourable Cassiel Ato Forson, Minority Leader in Parliament of pleading for charges to be dropped.
The NDC’s 24-hours ultimatum follows a comment made by the Attorney General in open court for which reason the NDC is daring him to substantiate his claim with the video evidence within 24-hours.
The fabrication, according to the NDC Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi ESQz is one of a shameful conduct amounting to fabrication of evidence.
The Attorney General’s conduct, Mr. Gyamfi disclosed constitutes an offence under sections 213 and 214 of the criminal offences Act 1960(Act 29).
He vehemently argue in a statement that Dame’s disgraceful conduct could not be a mere allegation intended to throw red-herring into the ongoing very serious discussion, but believes he has no such evidence.
Sammy Gyamfi stressed, “It is instructive to note that the AG could not deny or dispute this testimony of the accused in court”.
Sammy Gyamfi explained that the grave issue at stake was about the 3rd accused person who called out the AG in open court for coercing and impressing upon him through phone calls and several meetings at odd hours, to falsify his testimony to implicate the Minority Leader.
The damning revelation, being part of court’s record of proceeding earlier today, May 23,2024 exposing the NPP’s clandestine attempts to jail members of the NDC for no obvious wrongdoing.
“The drowning man will clutch to straws, and that is what Dame, the pathetic liar has been reduced to”, Mr. Gyamfi mocked.
The NDC maintained that the Attorney General has no video evidence of the Minority Leader pleading with him to drop his trump up charges which it claimed is falling as a pack of cards.
The NDC concluded that Dame’s disgraceful conduct was unethical and unprofessional as it breaches rule 13,40 and 54 of the Legal Profession under the Professional Conduct and Etiquette Rules 2020 of LI 2423.
“Coming events, they say cast their shadows. Godfred Dame will not get away with this one. His cup is full”, he added.
