Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has revealed plans to establish a pension fund for Members of Parliament to cover their various needs after they retire.

He added that to avoid burdening the taxpayer, these funds will be drawn from a central Members of Parliament pension scheme, with revenue drawn from the carbon credit market.

The entire house supported this, leading to the formation of a nine-member committee to pursue the matter.
