The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North and former Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo has donated 600 dual desks to the Abuakwa North Municipal Education Directorate.
Hon. Twum-Ampofo highlighted the urgent need for additional desks in Abuakwa North, explaining that she sought support from various sources to secure the desks.
She stressed the importance of providing adequate furniture to enhance teaching and learning, noting that while many schools in the area have undergone renovations, they still lack sufficient desks.
She also urged parents, pupils, and teachers to prioritize the proper management of school resources, emphasizing the need to instill these values in children.
Hon. Twum-Ampofo commended the efforts of parents, teachers, and students, encouraging parents to teach their children to appreciate the resources provided by both individuals and the government.
Mrs. Grace Adza-Awude, the Municipal Director of Education for Abuakwa North, received the donation of 600 dual desks and expressed her profound gratitude to Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo for her consistent support of the education sector in Abuakwa North.
She remarked, “Our pupils will now have enough furniture to sit comfortably and focus in the classroom.”
Mrs. Adza-Awude advised head teachers to take responsibility for the desks and ensure their proper maintenance.
She expressed satisfaction with the educational performance of students in the Abuakwa North Municipality and encouraged them to aim for even greater achievements.
“Education is the future of every individual, and without it, one cannot go far,” she stated.
She also cautioned students against wasting time on unnecessary friendships and urged them to concentrate on their education for a brighter future.
