The Former SRC President, Michael ABUAH, has delved into recent matters of multiple suicide attempts on university campuses and a recent case in KNUST.
Sharing his experiences of false accusations and allegations made against his administration’s leading to investigations and subsequent exoneration from all allegations, he commended the support from his family, friends, and counselors of the university in a tweet on 3rd July 2023 stating “As someone who has experienced the pain of false accusations and public scrutiny, I can understand how difficult it can be to navigate tough situations.
I was fortunate enough to have the support of my family, friends, and school counselor during that time. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength. I encourage all students to reach out to their counselors or trusted individuals when they feel overwhelmed or stressed. We must prioritize mental health and well-being on campus, and work together to create a safe and stress-free environment.
During his tenure as the SRC President, his administration was known for his strong advocacy and negotiation to revert the deferral of 6,000 students and the adoption of the entrepreneurship support fund by the governing university council until investigations leading to his ordeal and subsequent clearance by the disciplinary committee of the university of wrongdoing.
This came after petitions and allegations against his administration were championed by the lead for a coalition of concerned students, Mr. Theophilus Berchie.
