The Greater Accra Regional second vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Eric Nartey Yeboah has called the bluffs of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to proof what the party had done out of government.
A response to the challenge to the NDC, Mr. Nartey Yeboah noted, will indicate the party’s goodwill towards the people whose mandate the NDC may be seeking to govern.
Popularly known in political cycles as “Chairman Dollar”, Mr. Eric Nartey Yeboah threw the challenge at the commissioning ceremony of 2 different modern 23-seater toilets facilities built to serve the hygiene needs of the people of Kweiman and Pantang communities last Tuesday, July 3,2023.
Speaking in an interview with the media after the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Eric Nartey Yeboah explained that political parties can develop the nation if their committed.
He explained that funds for the over GHS80,000.00 each project was raised from the party’s coffers.
He clarified that the initiative was not an NPP government but solely the party’s community project.
In view of the above, he disclosed that the party will constitute a committee which will comprise chiefs of the area, party representatives and the contractor to ensure proper management.
He added, “this is an NPP design which contains a-bedroom self-contained for the manager of the facility.
This, he said was to ensure a 24 hour service at a moderate charge.
Touching on the compartments, he said people living with disability and very important personalities were factored into the project hence the uniqueness.
Mr. Nartey Yeboah reiterated, “the money for this project did not come from the NPP government but the party”.
Chairman Dollar noted that the project which was in fulfilment of a promise he made to the people of Madina while he was the constituency chairman therefore assuring a proper management.
The elevation from constituency chairman to Regional Vice, he explained was as a result of his hard work while the constituency chairman therefore assuring the party of same output to win the upcoming election.
The location of the project, he explained was strategic as water from the mountain flows along the same area.
He therefore was hopeful of all-year round availability of water for the flashing after use.
He urged the constituent to remember the good gesture in order to vote for both Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Honourable Robert Lamptey as the presidential and parliamentary candidates.
Nii Adjei Kweidza Mensah IV, Chief of Otinibi urged the gathering to continue ensuring that peace of the country remained undisturbed.
He called on the people to support the party to ensure that their due of the national cake is given them.
The contractor of the project, Ing. Stephen Dadson said though the project is a corporate social responsibility but a committee will oversee its operation to ensure sustainability.
