The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kintampo South, Hon. Felicia Adjei, has called on the government to take immediate action to repair the deteriorating road networks in her constituency to boost tourism and economic growth.

Addressing Parliament, Hon. Adjei highlighted the region’s vast tourism potential, citing major attractions such as the Kintampo Waterfalls, Kintampo Fuller Falls, and Kintampo Village. However, she expressed concern that poor road infrastructure and inadequate telecommunications services hinder tourism development.

“Most of our roads leading to key tourist sites are in a deplorable state, making it difficult for tourists to access these attractions. Critical roads, such as those connecting Jema town and Amoma town to Amoma Nkwanta through Agyina, require urgent attention,” she stated.

She further emphasized that the poor road conditions are not only affecting tourism but also impacting the daily lives of road users, farmers, and traders who rely on these routes for transportation and trade. Among the roads that need immediate repairs, she listed:

– Amoma Nkwanta through Agyina to Offuman in Techiman North Constituency
– Hyireso through Boadi to Nyameasem
– Asantekwaa to Ayorya
– Sabule through Mansie to Subinso in the Wenchi District

Hon. Adjei also raised concerns about the lack of reliable internet services, which limits communication for tourists and hampers local businesses from effectively marketing their services. She urged the government to invest in tourism infrastructure, particularly in Kintampo South, to support digital inclusion and economic growth.

Kintampo South is ready for the 24-hour economy. We are ready to welcome the world. Let us fix our roads and unlock the full potential of our constituency,” she concluded.
