Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh Quashie, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the North Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region, has emerged victorious in her bid for a third consecutive term in office. Representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), she secured her parliamentary seat after a successful election campaign, marking another significant milestone in her political career.

Since first contesting the parliamentary seat in 2016, Tetteh has become a household name in North Dayi, known for her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of her constituents. Her re-election in 2020, followed by a solid third-term victory, underscores her strong relationship with the people and their confidence in her leadership.

Hon. Tetteh has been a tireless advocate for her constituents, championing initiatives that enhance access to essential services. One of her standout contributions was the Free NHIS Card Registration and Renewal Intervention Program, which benefitted 7,159 residents. This initiative provided crucial health coverage to many, particularly in a region where access to healthcare services is a significant challenge.

In addition to her work in health, Hon. Tetteh has been a vocal advocate for the empowerment of the youth and workers. Recently, she demonstrated her commitment to the Kaolin miners in the area by donating vital tools to enhance their productivity. The donation, which included 50 hammers, 120 torchlights, and a cash contribution of GHC 2,000, received widespread praise for its impact on the local economy.

Furthermore, her focus on education has resulted in tangible improvements for schools in North Dayi. Hon. Tetteh has supported several basic schools in the constituency with the provision of 100 dual desks, helping to alleviate overcrowding and enhance the learning environment for students. Her vision for education also led to the commissioning of a well-equipped Learning Resource Center at Vakpo SHS, further solidifying her legacy of educational support.

As an ambassador for human trafficking in Ghana, Hon. Tetteh’s leadership extends beyond the political arena. She has been an outspoken advocate for women’s empowerment and public health, championing affirmative action and pushing for policy changes that benefit marginalized communities.

As she begins her third term, Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh Quashie remains a pivotal figure in the development of North Dayi and a powerful force in Ghanaian politics. Her continued work and dedication to her constituents prove that she is not only a committed public servant but also a leader poised to drive lasting change in the Volta Region and beyond.
