The Ho Municipal Assembly has received its first batch of DRIP equipment after they were launched last week Tuesday the 20th of August at the Regional level at the Jubilee Park in Ho on Tuesday, August.
The equipment that was handed over to the Municipal Chief Executive of Ho, Hon. Richard Divine Borson, on Monday, the 26th of August, during a short ceremony held at the premises of the Ho Municipal Assembly Building, included one tanker, one tipper truck, one concrete mixer, a roller, and a bulldozer.
Hon. Bosson, who was speaking to the media, said though the assembly was not supposed to have a pay-loader now, they have been privileged to have a pay-loader.
He added that the bulldozer is an offer given to the assembly because it is the regional capital. “It’s supposed to be at the pool so that whenever other assemblies need it, they can come and pick, but because Ho is at the capital, it’s given to us to use, and we have a lot of work to be done with the bulldozer.”
According to MCE, who is also the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Ho the Central Constituency, the equipment will be used for the purpose for which they were procured and for the betterment of our municipality, region, and the country at large.
He explained further that before the coming of these machines, the assembly had started a project called Get the Road Open under the concept of the road print, which has been started for about a year now, and though this has come a little bit late, it’s better late than never. It will help us to continue with this project. And also to the public, the people in the municipality, we are ready to get your roads motorable now.” with a promise to commence work to improve road networks in the municipality immediately with the help of the equipment from the DRIP program.
Some of the works that should be expected with the use and aid of the equipment include culvert works, roller works, and refilling of gravel but don’t include bitumen sufficiency nationwide, the MCE added.
He used the occasion to thank the regional minister, the local government minister, the regional minister, and all ministers who facilitated the processes, assuring them that the assembly would “take very, very good care of the machines.”
