Denys Monastyrsky, Interior Minister of Ukraine; Yevheniy Yenin, Deputy Minister; and Yuriy Lubkovychis, State Secretary, have died in a plane crash near a kindergarten school in the Kyiv region.

The helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building, Oleksiy Kuleba, head of Kyiv’s regional military, confirmed.

Officials say at least 30 others, counting 12 children, are in the hospital after the incident in the city of Bravory on Wednesday, according to the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration.

Nine people on board the helicopter, including ministry officials and crew members, were killed, as were seven people on the ground, including three children.

The helicopter that crashed was a Eurocopter EC225 “Super Puma.” A CNN producer confirms this after observing remnants of the flight manuals among the debris.

In a released written statement, Ukrainian President – Volodymyr Zelensky termed the incident “a tragedy,”  stating that he has ordered the Ukrainian security service to find out all the circumstances.
