The founder and flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has selected an independent presidential aspirant and economist, Rev Samuel Wolarnyo Mensah, as his running mate for the December, 7 2024 general elections.
Samuel Wolarnyo Mensah, a reverend minister, an accountant, a banker and now the running mate in his open address appealed to all other independent presidential aspirants and other smaller parties to join forces with the APC to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and also break the duopoly of NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Regarding the proposed alliance, “The Great Alliance,” he said it will form a formidable political force to reshape the political landscape of the country, develop a vibrant roadmap, and unlock the full potential of “fellow Ghanaians.”
Among some of the proposals that the anti corruption campaigner, Rev Wolarnyo Mensah, is hoping to bring on board is to strengthen all anti-corruption agencies and set up a task force that would coordinate all the activities of such institutions to ensure transparency.On
Mr Ayariga whose birthday coincided with the unveiling ceremony in Accra, on Wednesday, September 4, said the APC is the new third force capable to win the elections “one touch.”
He stated, the future of Ghana is the youth but unfortunately they have resorted to gambling because the is no vision for them.
According to him, as a result of the difficult economic condition, lots of Ghanaian youth are leaving the shores in search of Greener pasture.
