The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a strong caution to the public following recent incidents involving mobs attempting to disarm military personnel on authorized duty. These personnel are deployed to support the Ghana Police Service in their ongoing efforts to restore law and order across the country.
GAF emphasizes that military personnel on authorized assignments are empowered to defend themselves, innocent civilians, and property. This includes the use of necessary measures, up to and including lethal force, to protect lives and maintain peace.
The Armed Forces urge all Ghanaians to exercise their civic rights responsibly, cooperate with security personnel, and avoid actions that could undermine public safety or disrupt the nation’s peace.
