The former Madina chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Eric Nartey Yeboah, has commenced an initiative to light the streets within the constituency.

The project, which began over the weekend, is expected to install over 250 street lights along the streets from Ayi Mensah to Amrahia, all within the Madina Constituency.

Communities such as Danfa, Adoteiman, and Otinibi will benefit from the Lighting the Streets Project.

Speaking in an interview, the brain behind the project, Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman of the party Mr. Eric Nartey Yeboah, revealed that a total of 210 street lights have been procured for the project.

He added that the project is tailored to prevent darkness on the roads within the communities at night.

Upon the successful completion of the project, movement within the area at night will no longer be impeded by darkness.

Popularly known as “Chairman Dollar” among folks within the NPP fraternity, he disclosed that a total of 10 kilometers of road have been targeted for the Light Up Madina Project.

Responding to questions about whether the project is part of the government’s initiative or that of the party, he indicated, “We are trying to introduce something into Ghana politics where whether the party is in power or not, its contribution by way of corporate social responsibility must be enforced within the party.”

He stated emphatically that with the impressive showings of the NPP, there’s no doubt that the party will win the upcoming elections.

He maintained, “Nobody can say they do not like a good thing as this; therefore, we are winning the election come December 7th.”

He expressed gratitude to the party executives within the Madina Constituency and also congratulated running mate Honourable Matthew Opoku Prempeh on his selection.

In conclusion, he urged the people of Madina to vote massively for the party to ensure the fulfillment of promises made to them.

He once again threw a challenge to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to show goodwill towards the people of Madina Constituency, even in opposition, proving their commitment.

Nii Adjei Kweidza Mensah IV, chief of the Otinibi Traditional Area, expressed his appreciation to the party for the gesture.

He noted that the project will enable residents to engage in night sales without fear.
