Ghana’s food and beverage manufacturing industry players were honored at the 2nd Future of Food & Beverage Manufacturing Awards, hosted at Accra Marriott Hotel on Friday, April 4, 2025.

The prestigious event, themed “Transforming Africa’s Food & Beverage Manufacturing Industry: Innovation, Sustainability, and Self-Sufficiency,” brought together top industry leaders, government officials, innovators, and trailblazers from across the food value chain, placing the spotlight on companies and individuals who have shown excellence in innovation, quality, operational efficiency, and strategic leadership in agribusiness and Ghana’s most vital economic sector, the food and beverage sector.

Organized by The Governance & Business Boardroom, the awards served as a national platform to celebrate and reward Ghana’s finest in food and beverage manufacturing while inspiring actionable conversations around Africa’s food security and industrial transformation.

The glamorous evening saw notable keynote presentations from dignitaries including: Honourable John Setor Dumelo, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana, Professor Kobby Mensah, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) and Dr. (Mrs.) Adelaide Araba Siaw Agyepong, CEO, African Agribusiness Consortium

In his remarks, the Deputy Minister Honourable. John Setor Dumelo paid respect to the relentless efforts of the industry’s trailblazers. “It is both an honour to stand before you this evening to celebrate the champions of Ghana’s food and beverage manufacturing sector—pioneers who continue to shape the backbone of our economy.

The individuals and companies we celebrate tonight are not just manufacturers—they are visionaries, problem-solvers, and nation-builders. Their tireless commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability is helping Ghana move steadily toward food self-sufficiency and agro-industrial excellence.

As government, we recognize the importance of this sector—not only in feeding our nation but in creating jobs, empowering farmers, strengthening our value chains, and contributing significantly to GDP. That is why we continue to support policies and partnerships that empower local producers and attract strategic investment in agribusiness.

In their individual presentations, these speakers reaffirmed the urgency and importance of driving innovation, strengthening sustainability practices, and promoting self-sufficiency across Africa’s food manufacturing value chain.

On the other hand, in his address, Mr. Richmond Anim Damoah, the visionary leader behind The Governance & Business Boardroom, emphasized the vital role the food and beverage manufacturing industry play in Ghana’s economic development:

He said “The food and beverage manufacturing sector is not only one of the largest contributors to Ghana’s GDP, but it is also a crucial pillar when it comes to food security, industrial innovation, job creation, and export diversification. Today, we celebrate the unsung heroes of our economy—the manufacturers, marketers, technologists, and entrepreneurs—whose dedication fuels our agricultural transformation and uplifts livelihoods across communities.”

“Their outstanding contributions are not just about numbers and volumes—they are about purpose, resilience, and long-term impact. This awards ceremony is our way of saying ‘thank you’—for working tirelessly, innovating boldly, and shaping the future of agribusiness in Ghana and beyond. We believe that by recognizing excellence, we encourage more of it. This is how we transform industries, inspire generations, and build a prosperous, self-reliant Africa.” He added
