Thousands of concerned youth from Weija-Gbawe constituency took to the streets to protest against deplorable condition of their roads.
The protesters called on the government to fix the perilous state of the Gbawe Borla road, which has become increasingly hazardous for both drivers and commuters.
Dressed in red and black attire, the youths brandished placards emblazoned with messages such as “Justice for Borla Road” and “Borla Road Deserves a Share of the National Cake.”
At the flip side of the protest, a parliamentary candidate for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Felix Odartey Lamptey was picked up by alleged National Security.
Sources close to Ghana News Guide suggest Lamptey’s arrest was linked to his perceived role in organizing the demonstration.
Despite his subsequent release, the youth voiced vehement opposition to what they perceive as an intimidation tactic orchestrated by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
As developments unfold, Ghana News Guide remains vigilant, monitoring this evolving situation. Stay tuned for updates.
