Award-winning actress, Nadia Buari has voiced out to join the calls for an end to illegal mining also known as galamsey.

In a post on X, Friday September 27, Nadia Buari bemoaned the “greedy” nature of politicians while emphasising on the underlying factors leading to illegal mining in the country.

“Ignorance, poverty, greed and the desperation to be rich at once and at all cost, seem to be the driving forces behind the pungent act of illegal mining otherwise GALAMSAY, destroying our dear country.

“All over the continent, politicians no longer just rob their nations, but also now rob off their ill acquired wealth on the faces of the same masses that put them in power through flaunting this wealth in open acquisition of public properties, and on other matters that really do not matter to the people,” she tweeted
