The Executive Prostate and Herbal Centre(EPHC),an offshoot of Ganaherb Therapeutics has officially unveiled its state-of-the-art facility to save the nation better.
The landmark ceremony which came off earlier today, Thursday, June 13,2024 saw stakeholders in the Traditional Medical Practice in Ghana are upbeat that the sector holds greater prospects for the future.
Being the leading producer of herbal pharmaceuticals, the centre has Gana Balm noted for inflammation and pain, Prosta Joy for prostate health, Sav500 as the ultimate immune booster, Ganaman for energy and vitality, and Krepto 400 for malaria treatment, revamping hope and faith in users.
For over 30 years of experience in healthcare, research and development, coupled with the scientific production of herbal medicines,the centre has distinct itself in meeting the four critical standards set by the World Health Organization(WHO) for herbal medicines which includes Safety, Efficacy, Quality, and Affordability.
Delivering a statement at the occasion, the brainchild of the centre, Dr. Nutifafa Takyi explained that the continuous demand for treatment at the herbal clinic led to the establishment of the Executive Prostate and Herbal Centre.
Dr. Takyi stressed, “despite my childhood dream of becoming a medical doctor being thwarted by unforeseen circumstances, I am grateful to the Almighty God for guiding me to become a Biomedical Scientist”.
Detailing the compartments at the new state-of-the-art facility, he revealed that the facility is equipped with consulting rooms,an ultramodern laboratory, ultrasound departments, a well-stocked dispensary, an OPD,administrative offices,and an IT desk, he assured of its commitment to serve better.
Being a registered centre with the Registrar General’s Department and the regulatory body, Traditional Medicine Practitioners Council,the medical professionals, laboratory scientists, sonographer, nurses and midwives are duly registered with their respective regulatory bodies.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Anastasia Yirenkyi, Director for Traditional and Alternative Medicine Directorate assured that legislations were underway to fully incorporate its treatment at hospitals.
She said the medicinal and economic benefits of herbs cannot be overemphasized but feared its abuses in the absence of a scientific basis.
She said the Alternative Medicine has proven to be the best for treatment of diseases but could not understand why it has been pushed to the backdrop.
She was livid however that the relevance of traditional medical practice will be fully embraced by all and sundry soon.
