President-elect Donald Trump announced the creation of a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), to be led by entrepreneur and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. This commission’s primary mission will be to reduce government resource waste and streamline federal bureaucracy.
Alongside Musk, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will play a key role in implementing structural reforms within federal agencies. Together, these two economic leaders will work to propose innovative solutions and policy revisions aimed at making the federal administration more agile and efficient.
According to Trump’s statement, the goal of this initiative is to achieve concrete results by the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, on July 4, 2026. The president-elect emphasized the importance of this symbolic milestone, expressing his wish to mark the occasion with significant progress in efficiency and public resource management.
This project aligns with Trump’s expressed intent to revitalize state structures by drawing on prominent private-sector figures, in the hope that they will bring fresh perspectives and effective practices from the business world.
