Ghanaian young doctor Paulina Mefia Denteh has been appointed Director of Women’s Health and Wellness by the Health Community of West Africa (HCOWA) effective from February 2025 to 2026.

This achievement is not just a mere feat, but a standing ovation for the young doctor’s contribution to the wellness of Ghana, Africa, and beyond.

“I am deeply honored and excited to be appointed Director of Women’s Health and Wellness. This role is a great responsibility, and I am eager to contribute towards improving healthcare access, education, and wellness programs for women across Ghana and West Africa” Dr. Denteh expressed.

In an exclusive interview with journalist Ishmael Awudi, Dr. Denteh outlined her vision for her tenure, promising tangible improvements in healthcare accessibility and education.

As Director of Women’s Health and Wellness, Dr. Mafia Denteh’s role will focus:
1.⁠ ⁠Advocating for better healthcare services for women, especially in underserved communities.
2.⁠ ⁠Developing awareness programs on key health issues affecting women, such as maternal health, breast and cervical cancer, and reproductive health.
3.⁠ ⁠Collaborating with healthcare professionals and organizations to implement impactful wellness initiatives.
4. Supporting research and innovation in women’s health to improve early detection, treatment, and healthcare accessibility.
