The most important event in Ghana’s music calendar, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) now known as the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) celebrated artistic achievements in highlife, hiplife, Afropop, gospel, and other genres on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

On Saturday, June 1, 2024 the Accra International Conference Center’s Grand Arena hosted the announcement of the 25th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) winners which was successfully organized by Charterhouse.Dancehall artist Stonebwoy was named the largest honoree of the evening who won the most important prize.

Stonebwoy has won the Artiste of the Year title at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). Kuami Eugene, Black Sherif, King Promise, Nacee, and Sarkodie were the five fierce competitors he defeated to earn the prize.

Artiste of the Year was just one of five accolades that Stonebwoy took home, including Best International Collaboration, Record of the Year, Best Dancehall Artiste, Best Songwriter of the Year, and Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist.

Stonebwoy has won the TGMA Artiste of the Year award twice; the first time was in 2015. Other than rapper Sarkodie and the group VIP, he is the third musician in history to reach this feat.

In honor of his enormous achievements to the music industry, the renowned Highlife Artiste Amakye Dede received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

With guests wearing their best clothes, the evening was a magnificent display. They were observed swaying to the evening’s lineup of performers’ exuberant performances.
