Residents of Obuasi West constituency in the Ashanti Region have expressed their hopes for a by-election and subsequent development initiatives by praying for the demise of their Member of Parliament, Kwaku Kwarteng.
They believe that such an event would compel President Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to visit the constituency and initiate crucial development projects.
Voicing their sentiments to Onua TV, the residents unanimously claimed that politicians only show interest in a particular constituency and prioritize its development when a by-election is triggered by the death of the incumbent MP.
Their conviction stems from witnessing previous instances where similar occurrences led to notable development ventures, such as road constructions in Kumawu, Ashanti Region, and ongoing developments in the Assin North constituency in the Central Region.
