Barbara Mahama, widow of the late Major Mahama, who tragically lost his life in Denkyira Obuasi back in 2017, has chosen to break her silence and reveal her emotional journey through a memoir she penned herself.

Titled “RESILIENCE: Reflections from a Widow’s Diary,” this poignant book offers a heartfelt account of her experiences and thoughts, providing a glimpse into her life six years after her husband’s untimely passing.

In May 2017, the nation was shocked and saddened by the gruesome killing of Major Mahama, a dedicated and respected officer of the Ghana Armed Forces. He was senselessly attacked by a mob in Denkyira Obuasi while on a mission to combat illegal mining activities in the area. The tragic incident sent shockwaves throughout the country, leaving behind a grieving widow and a devastated community.

Now, after several years of privately coping with her loss, Barbara Mahama has found the courage to share her personal journey in her own words. “RESILIENCE: Reflections from a Widow’s Diary” serves as a tribute to her late husband’s memory and aims to shed light on the challenges faced by those who have lost a loved one in such a tragic manner.

The memoir delves into the depths of Barbara’s emotions as she navigates life without her beloved husband by her side. Through introspection and self-discovery, she opens up about the pain, grief, and immense strength she has found within herself. With honesty and vulnerability, Barbara recounts the difficult moments and triumphs she has encountered on her path toward healing and rebuilding her life.

“RESILIENCE: Reflections from a Widow’s Diary” not only chronicles Barbara Mahama’s personal journey but also offers insights and inspiration to others who have experienced similar losses. It serves as a beacon of hope, encouraging readers to find their inner strength and embrace resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
