The Accra Technical University (ATU) Debate Team demonstrated their exceptional expertise and unwavering commitment to intellectual discourse as they were invited to serve as judges at the prestigious Liberia Inter University Debate Championship organized by the Liberia Debate Council.

This four-member team, accompanied by their coach, Michael Koranteng, embarked on a journey that transcended national borders, leaving an indelible mark on the international event.

The remarkable journey of the ATU Debate Team commenced on Monday, August 21, 2023, when they set sail from Ghana to Liberia. After a week-long exchange of intellectual ideas, the team returned to Accra on Sunday, August 27, 2023, having not only shared their profound insights but also gained valuable experiences from the global stage.

Under the leadership of the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Martin Owusu Amoamah, the ATU delegation garnered high praise for their exceptional judging capabilities.

The Liberia Debate Council honored them with well-deserved citations of merit, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and significant contribution to fostering an atmosphere of thoughtful discourse and critical thinking.

Among the notable accolades, the ATU Debate Team members received medals for their outstanding performances during the championship, with key awardees including:

– Nathaniel Kwebi Antwi – Overall Best International Judge
– Mehetabel Gyebi Aquinas – Overall Best Female Judge
– Nana Yaw Sekyere – 2nd Best International Judge
