The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and the legislature for the Formena Constituency, Mr. Andrew Asiamah Amoako has urged government to show commitment to  alleviate suffering of Ghanaians in the upcoming budget.

This, he said will clearly indicate the government’s determination to ameliorate the living conditions of the ordinary Ghanaian people.

His request follows the demand of the constitutional mandate requiring the finance minister to present the budget statements and government fiscal policy for the 2025 financial year.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Guide,the Second Deputy Speaker indicated that governments must scrap taxes it consider as nuisance in a bid to relief Ghanaians.

“According to them, they promised to remove the E-levy, Betting tax, Emissions tax, covid tax, I think they can do more in areas they think Ghanaians are complaining about”, the Second Deputy Speaker indicated.

He underscored the need for government to focus on areas that will inure to the benefit of the Ghanaian people.
